Heresite Protective Coatings:  HVAC Coating Protection

Prevent your HVAC systems from failing by applying Heresite coatings to your coils, radiators, or other process equipment. Heresite coatings do not just extend the life of equipment but also improves air quality and energy efficiency. Heresite provides regular upgrades to factory-applied coatings on units which have to survive in corrosive environments. We provide coating services for condensers, evaporators, all internal copper piping, and other components of your HVAC systems.

Heresite phenolic and epoxy coatings are acid resistant, chemical resistant, and UV resistant. They are commonly used to provide HVAC protection in high salinity coastal regions and in environments exposed to high humidity, corrosive chemicals, and chemical fumes including but not limited to:

  • Coastal Environment
  • Petroleum refineries
  • Wastewater treatment plants
  • Chemical plants
  • Fossil fuel power plants
  • Telecommunications and data centers
  • Off-shore drilling platforms
  • Scientific laboratories, medical facilities, and veterinary clinics
  • Pulp and paper mills
  • Food processing and storage facilities
  • Restaurants, convention centers, hotels, and motels
  • Airports and transportation hubs
  • Shopping malls and retail businesses
  • Swimming pool environments

HVAC Coil Protection

The health and performance of the HVAC coil determines how well your HVAC system will function. Applying protective HVAC coil protection coatings can protect the coils and components of your HVAC systems in a corrosive environment. Heresite has evolved continuously over the last 80 years to meet the demanding operating conditions. Be it our newest product, ES-600 high-performance epoxy-silane, or the most tested one, P-413, we have the right kind of HVAC coating for every environment.

Protective HVAC-R coil coatings can be applied to:

  • Finned tube coils
  • Evaporators and other HVAC-R components, including fans, blowers, louvers, etc.
  • Refrigeration coils
  • Condenser coils

Extreme Coastal Environment Protection

HVAC coils that are in coastal zones undergo corrosion damage due to the abundance of salt and UV rays. Heresite protective coatings provide highly efficient protection for HVAC industrial and residential equipment, including heat exchangers, radiators, and industrial equipment components. Heresite coatings can help protect against the harshest environment, prolonging the damage to your equipment!

HVAC Industrial Equipment Protection

The harsh, corrosive environment in humid and marine conditions can take a toll on your HVAC coils. Heresite coatings provide excellent protection to your HVAC components even in the harshest marine environments. We perform cyclic testing to understand how the product would function in real-world conditions. We take pride in the fact that P-413, our thin film corrosion resistant coating, was the first HVAC coating product to fulfil the requirements of the ISO 12944-9 cyclic test.

HereShield (WB-506) Water-based, Air-Dry Coating

HereShield was developed as an alternative to VR-514 and is a low-VOC direct-to-metal coating. It exhibits exceptional durability, salt fog performance, corrosion and UV resistance, and weathering capabilities. These coatings are specially formulated to protect HVAC heat exchanges and other equipment in marine environments and are acid and inorganic salt splash resistant.

Cooling Coils:  Nyalic® Corrosion Protectant for Cooling Coils

Turn to Coastal Coating Specialist Inc for Nyalic and Heresite coating products that extend the life of your HVAC systems.

Nyalic can be used on a wide variety of HVAC/R equipment ranging from residential to commercial. This application helps protect the equipment from the harsh corrosive environment that they may be exposed to. For example, coastal areas, water treatment plants, mining areas, and even on boats or ships. The use of this product is meant to prolong the effects of what corrosion will do to the equipment. If left untreated the equipment will corrode at a faster pace resulting in parts or even complete replacement. In our application process Nyalic is used as an exterior cabinet coating for the HVAC/R equipment but may be used in other ways like electrical panels or blower wheels and even interior air stream. If you would like more information or have other applications to be considered, please give us a call. We will be glad to help if possible.

Nyalic works by forming a strong mechanical bond to a clean surface and encapsulating that surface, thereby providing protection from airborne contaminates, such as salt, fertilizer, urea, and that a like. Nyalic is simple to use, but the key to a successful application is proper surface preparation.

A single coat of Nyalic's anti-corrosion products is applied in most instances. Independent testing reveals that there is no difference in heat transfer properties on coils with a single coat of Nyalic (5 microns DFT).

Why use Nyalic? Nyalic's coating protects internal electrical and electronics and bare metal areas and components from all types of corrosive elements, especially salt. Corrosion and atmospheric fallout is aggressive in coastal regions and using Nyalic can forestall the possible early onset of corrosion to important parts that are uncoated at the factory, components that could otherwise be liable to suffer early failure in harsh conditions.

Factory-installed corrosion treatments can include coil treatments consisting of layers of chromate, silicate and resins, treating steel panels with zinc and corrosion resistant paint, coating circuit boards with silicon or a conformal coating and treating the bases with coatings containing varying percentages of zinc, aluminum, and magnesium. While all of these treatments work to some extent, Nyalic can be applied over all of these components to gain added protection. Nyalic can be applied over the top of all of these treatments with the exception of silicon.

Nyalic is used to rejuvenate the exterior color and look of older units that have oxidized and faded.
